A vacancy exists in the eThekwini office for a suitably qualified and experienced Professional Civil Engineer / Technologist to commence duties in the Transport Sector as soon as possible
The Sector Area Manager will provide strategic business leadership and development of operations within eThekwini
Main Responsibilities
Business development and client liaison
Management and design of Transport infrastructure and planning projects
Technical and business management including business planning, development, budget and income control
Management and development of employees in the unit
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience
BSc/BTech Civil Engineering, post graduate qualification preferable
Professionally registered
Minimum 10 years experience (BSc) or minimum 15 years experience (BTech) in the transportation field, specifically in the planning, design and supervision of National, Provincial and Municipal Roads
Proven track record in business development and success in generating business from both the public and private sectors with an understanding of both environments
Management experience at a strategic level with good technical knowledge and experience
Must be able to network with relevant stakeholders at a senior level
Fluent in English, written and oral
Fluency in isiZulu will be advantageous
